General home inspections for real estate transactions. Residential only.
Let us share with you what is involved when we do an inspection for you. Inspectors check the roof, basement, heating system, air-conditioning system, water heater, plumbing, structure, electrical, and many other aspects of buildings. They look for system and major component defects and deficiencies, improper building practices, those items that require extensive repairs, items that are general maintenance issues, and more importantly some fire and safety issues. A general home inspection is not designed to identify building code violations, although some of the deficiencies identified may also be code violations. This can be very valuable information in the largest investment you may ever make, your home. An inspection is merely a summary of things you need to know about your investment.
A home inspection is not technically exhaustive and does not imply that every defect will be discovered. Inspectors are not responsible for future failures. Home inspections are most valuable if the buyer stays the entirety of the inspection, this is generally 2-4 hours depending of the size of the home.
Before you buy a home, it is always a good idea to get a professional home inspection. A good home inspection can give you very valuable insights into the property that you are purchasing and help you plan for the future maintenance and repairs.
